Who We Are

At The Salvation Army, we are dedicated to Doing the Most Good. We are made up of thousands of officers, soldiers, staff, volunteers, donors, and partners working together to holistically meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our most vulnerable neighbors. The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

What We Do

The Salvation Army is recognized as one of America's foremost leaders in social services and dramatically alters the lives of hundreds of thousands each year who face daunting circumstances such as job loss or food insecurity. From making the holidays happier for less fortunate families with holiday assistance to providing utility and rental assistance, The Salvation Army is intrinsically involved in our community. The Salvation Army feeds thousands of families each year through our local Food Pantry in Rockford and also provides emergency disaster services, youth and music programs, and more.
