United Way of Rock River Valley and Rockford Public Library invite you to a free, one hour training. This training is suitable for all volunteers who will be sharing early literacy skills with children and parent/caregivers of young children ( infant to pre-k). Professionals who would like to learn more about early childhood reading readiness will also benefit from this training.
This training will provide loads of early literacy tips and volunteer attendees will leave with a goody bag including a wonderful picture book perfect for sharing with children and families.
The training is based on the American Library Association's Every child Ready to Read curriculum and supports the current United Way Literacy Initiative.
The 60 minute training will have 45 minutes of material, ending with a 15 minute 'story time' presentation. the training is interactive, and there will be time for questions.
