United Way, Cherry Valley Fire Protection District and the Winnebago County Citizens Corps Council are hosting an emergency response drill and are looking for individuals to play the role of a spontaneous disaster relief volunteers.
Just one hour or less of your time will help us test our capacity to screen and deploy volunteers into the field in the case of a real emergency. No manual labor or actual relief work is required -- this is just a drill.
We are looking for individuals 18 years or older, or minors with a parent/guardian. Your role will consist of filling out a volunteer application, receiving a brief disaster response training, waiting for a "deployment" and then you are free to go!
