The Rock River Valley Pantry is partnering with the University of Illinois Extension to create raised garden beds on an empty lot across from Crusader Clinic on Broadway on Saturday, May 18.
They have a need for as many as 12 volunteers.
Tasks:
1. Construct eight new raised beds and add one more level to three existing beds.
2. Fill constructed beds with compost/soil.
3. Attach weed barrier/fabric.
Volunteers with equipment they're willing to share for the day would be appreciated. That equipment includes battery operated drills or impact wrenches, wheelbarrows, rakes, and shovels.
